My New Toy

I have a new addition to my family......yesterday I brought home a mac. Endless hours of fun, procrastination and creativity are in my future. I am not exactly sure what this will mean for ScapeNY, but I am certain there will be funny pictures and movies of me at a bare minimum. Be prepared dear readers.....this is about to get muy caliente!

My biggest fear....
My biggest fear splashed across the pages of NY Magazine.
Three-Dirty-Dirty-Zero
My love, my unhealthy obsession, my dear ScapeNY hit 3,000 impressions since the site was started. Thank you to all who read, peruse, or skip over completely my ramblings about this crazy ride called living in New York City. Please post more comments! I would love to hear from you (even though through some retarded Blogger BS I am not able to email you back). Thank you all!

So What Do You Do On the Weekends?
I get asked this questions countless times by family, friends not living in NYC, etc. Well dear readers, here is the low-down of a typical NYC Sunday. Watch out for thrills and chills!!
- 9am - Wake up (tameish Saturday night leads to an incredibly productive day). Store those winter woolens....it is time to bring out the summer wardrobe.
- 10:30 - Errands: Container store, BBB, Verizon, H&M before the crowds.
- 12 - Subway ride to 86th and Lex to meet Jessica to power walk like soccer moms.
- 12:30 - Walk the entire 6 mile loop in Central Park (much needed gossip, dish, and bitching session while surrounded by nature).
- 3 - Head down to Soho to meet Todd to watch him shop and tool around (legs killing me from earlier)
- 5 - Dinner at Cubano Cafe - Super yummy and cheap eats on Thompson Street.
- 6:30 - Todd and I decide to head to the East Village to get shady Asian lady massages
- 8 - Finally at home...feels so good to sit down.
- 8:30 - Talk to the parents, Todd, check email, etc.
- 9:30 - Plant myself in front of the TV...30 min before The Tudors comes on.
- 11:15 - Bed time. Much needed.

Who needs the Easter Bunny when you have the Spring Chick
It is a beautiful day here in NYC. Babs, Jordan, and the Spring Chick from the Marc Jacob's store on Bleecker wish you a wonderful spring! I guess a nice Jewish boy like Marc wouldn't go for something as un-p.c. as the Easter bunny. Regardless, how much fun is it to get a pic taken with a giant bird. Hehe.

Today is awesome...not only did I launch the blog on www.scapeny.com (screw the lame blogspot address) but I also passed 2000 impressions since the I started writing. Thanks so much! You all have made my week. :-)

The Transformation Continues
Tomorrow I revist my wonderful friend Jordan Sparkes at Garren. The transformation continues....we are moving from mid-90's Linda Evangelista to a less severe Victoria Beckham (sans exposed clavicles and creepy breast implants that look like ziplock bags filled with pudding).More to come....

PETA, It's Cold Outside....
I am almost ashamed to admit how excited I am to get my first morsel of hate mail (you know, hate is a very strong word....let's call it expression of personal opinion) on the blog. It all started with a little spot on Anna Wintour; a person I am completely fascinated with. Yes, we all know that Anna is prone to wear our little furry friends, but you know what....it has been 10 degrees in NYC the past few days, and I wouldn't put it past myself to slip into the little fox vest at Intermix. Some people would rather go naked then wear fur (eh, PETA), well I would rather go in a luxurious burgundy belted Fendi fur. To each his own. Muah!

I Survived
I have officially survived the most incredibly stressful week of my professional career to date. I promise to get back to the daily posts. You know you are busy when you have not checked Yahoo mail, My Space, Gawker, OR Perez in an entire week. Jesus. I feel so out of the loop.

The Black Lung
Viral lung infection with inflamed vocal chords = 4 days not able to speak + voodoo tea with cayenne pepper + awful cough + a fun 4 hours at NY Presbyterian Hospital. No bueno.

New Year's Resolutions
Now that the hangover has officially subsided, I can formally and frankly declare my 2007 New Year's Resolutions:
- Get more manicures and pedicures - it's never bad to pamper yourself a little
- Make bed in the morning - regardless of how messy a room is, if the bed is made it makes a world of difference
- Stop deciding it is a good idea to walk home when I am completely intoxicated - not safe
- Limit myself to one bagel a week - I read somewhere that you can gain 30 pounds in a year by eating a bagel every day
- Party like an absolute rockstar....you only live once, and what better place to be than NYC.

The Office - Christmas Outpost
Instead of my regular posting locale, Starbucks on 24th and 6th, I am setting up shop in Mesquite TX for the next few days. I'll be frequenting the Panera Bread across from Town East Mall. I am so suburban.

James Brown - One Bad Mutha F@#$a
This will be my little tribute to James Brown. I saw him perform at the Diesel party during Fashion Week this past fall, and I have to say that he can put on a show....a cheesy cruise ship style show, but a show none the less. RIP brotha, and thanks for the memories.

Leave Marisha Pessl Alone!
Eh, my poor friend Marisha Pessl, author of Calamity Physics....it just never ends for this gal. Seems to me that you can either be an ugly troll of a writer and get loads of accolades, or you can be gorgeous and everyone dogs your book because they attribute the publicity to the looks and not the novel. NY Magazine's Curve of Expectations puts her in the "Overhyped-Backlash" phase. Seriously. Leave her alone!Click on the chart to get a better view.
