Posh Spice New Hair Revealed

Screw the Fug Girls....Victoria Beckham in on point as ever! Pic snagged from Perez. I would never use a phrase like "Hawt'....It should be "Haute" you fat doof.
Posh Spice New Do...saga continues
I can't find any pics online yet, but this does not sound promising. HEY, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Our correspondents have just arrived! They report: "We just got here; the runway has a line of zigzagging mirrors down the center. It looks like the finale of A Chorus Line. And I don't know if I'm seeing things, very bad things, but Victoria Beckham just walked in and it would seem that she's cut off all her hair. It's horrendous! Like little tufts all over head. Jennifer Lopez just got here too (wearing a white dress). Posh kind of sneaked in behind her and hardly anyone noticed. Given the hair, probably for the best."

Victoria Beckham the new Mia Farrow?
Here is a juicy bit of news! We are in the thick of New York Fashion Week. Everyone has been scouring the papers and the web to get their fill of fashion, celebrities behaving badly, and model drama. You may have noticed that one of my favorite fashionistas, Posh Spice, has been completely absent from the festivities thus far. A little birdie told me she went to Garren Salon straight from the PJ (private jet for those of you out of the upper echelon acronym loop) to get rid of that tired bob which I hear was full of extensions...hence adding to the lollipop head. She is now sporting a Mia Farrow via Rosemary's Baby style cropped pixie cut. Vicky B has been holed up in her hotel room since Friday night (good God think of that room service bill!....oh wait, she doesn't eat---think of that mini bar bill!)
This is sure to cause quite a stir and get those tongues wagging when she makes her grand entrance at the Marc Jacobs show and party Monday night. I can't wait!!
Sighting of My Fearless Leader

Just another random walk home from the subway: like many before, like many will be afterwards. I saw a movie set in Bryant Park (like many before, like many will be afterwards) and decided to walk by since Fashion Week is probably my favorite time of the year. I was very curious to see who was shooting with a fake fashion week tent in the background. Movie sets are a lot of hurry up and wait so I didn't think I would see anyone worth noting. I took a quick glimpse and kept on my way down 6th Avenue.
At about 40th and 6th I noticed a girl walking towards me with this crazy outfit on. This being New York and everything, I didn't think anything of it. Seriously, it looked like she was wearing two giant dirty snowballs (or dandelion puffs). She wasn't with a mass of people so I really thought nothing of it.....until I got closer. Our paths crossed and when she was about 10 feet away from me I realized......OMG IT IS SARAH JESSICA PARKER!!! IT IS CARRIE BRADSHAW!!! MY FEARLESS LEADER!!! Once I realized who she was a smile spread across my face that I could not have possibly controlled. She looked at me and smiled back in a silent "I know you are a huge fan and thank you for now attacking me with cameras and praises" kind of way. As soon as it was over I had to stop by the first place I knew that had wireless internet and let me partner in crim (and fellow SATC devotee) know who I had seen.
This has easily been my favorite sighting over the past year and half. Sex and the City changed the way women think about everything from fashion to boys to shoes to careers. The show was one of my huge inspirations to move to New York, and seeing Sarah Jessica Parker was really the icing on the Maglolia cupcake. The only thing that would have topped this is if Carrie had been walking down the street with Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte.....I think I would have passed out.

Celeb Sighting - Tori Spelling & Fam

Celeb Sighting - Tori Spelling with hubby Dean and little tot Liam walking down West Broadway this past Saturday. As a child of the 90210 generation, I loved this sighting. PS - Her husband is freaking HOT.....and no, I did not take this pic.

Celeb Sighting - Lisa Rinna
She is in NYC for a brief stint in the musical, Chicago, with her husband Harry Hamlin. I think she has had the same suburban Tony & Guy meets Sally Hershberger hair cut for the past decade, so if that didn't give it away, it was the freakishly inflated lips. It is painful to see those things in real life. It is like Angelina Jolie's mouth on steroids without chapstick (her lips are kinda wrinkly). Anyways, she has a great body so I will give her major props for that.

Beyonce's Orlando Face Plant
Call me crazy, but does anyone else see the similarity in Beyonce's "moves" and the new Sunsilk commercial where the girl has to get a neck brace from swinging her hair too hard? Maybe instead of whipping that mane around she should concentrate on where to place her feet on the stairs. I know everyone has eaten it before on a staircase (my crowning moment was a grand entrance into the Hammerstein Ballroom for a Jennifer Hudson concert), but at least I don't have a hundred people with cameras ready to document.
Parker Posey is my hero.
She hit the nail right on the head with this quote. Now that I have reached the ripe old age of 25 I have entered into single spinster-dom according to my comrades in the South. Wake up people, you get way better wedding gifts if you wait to get married in your 30's when you friends actually have some disposable income. The North is soooo different. I love it. "I wanted to leave the South when I was 11 years old. I was a ballerina, and I just knew I wanted to do something. I didn’t want to grow up and get married and have a family at the age of 18 or 21. I wanted to do things. It’s very different down South where you have more of that. I’m from Monroe, Louisiana, and you’re kind of a freak when you actually want to do something with your life.”

Celeb Sighting - Austin Scarlett of Project Runway
Heidi, and 5The Project Runway streak continues! 1st Laura Bennett, 2nd Michael Johns (not worthy of post), 3rd Angela Keslar (also not worthy), 4thth Michael Kors....and now Austin Scarlett!Everyone remembers Project Runway's ultra flamboyant and hilariously feminine Austin Scarlett. I was at the Port Authority Bus Terminal yesterday (just about the most un-glam place you can be in the city besides the Social Security office) and I noticed that hair. Project Runways fans know the hair: coiffed within an inch of its life, highlighted, and perfect in every regard. I quickened my stride to get a glimpse. There he was in all his queenly glory: painfully skinny jeans, woven brown leather booties, tailored blazer, and purse (or murse and I like to call it when guys carry one). Wonder where he was taking the bus to.....

Celeb Sighting - Laura Bennett of Project Runway
I must say Laura Bennett was one of my all-time favorite Project Runway contestants. So, I was absolutely glowing after spotting her on Saturday. If you have been on Broadway in Soho on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon, you know what a complete zoo it is, but that red hair stood out like no one else's. She was crossing the street with her husband (who looks kinda like Albert Einstein) with new baby in tow. Laura looked fabulous as always, chic and elegant even while moving with the masses. My favorite saying from her is, "When you have 5 kids, you have to dress up everyday or it is a slippery slope to wearing sweat pants." Honey, you don't need 5 kids to live by that mantra.

Socialite Rank - RIP
I am traumatized...I feel like my best friend, boy friend, and dog have all died in the same day. This is the final day of my beloved NYC scene site, Socialite Rank. As I excitedly sat down at my laptop this morning to begin my ritual of email checking, blog reading, etc....wiggling my fingers with fanciful anticipation of today's post i could not contain myself.... w-w-w.s-o-c-i-a-l-i-t-e-r-a-n-k.c-o-m. The headline read: The Year of the Rank----Oh goodie! Updated ranking! THEN CRUSHED. Socialite Rank no more. The story goes that SR was created to last only 1 year and would end in 365 days regardless of popularity, loathing, or complacence. Well, the site took off and now we are all left wondering where we will read about the Frick Ball Bathroom Bandits, lame socialite antics, and how we will fill the void of living vicariously through these beauties while we slave at our computers in the unflattering fluorescent light of an office. I must give them credit though...get out while you are on top instead of winnowing away into oblivion.Bon voyage Socialite Rank....it has been an awesome ride!

Sighting: Chelsea Clinton - Grace Church
Celebrity sighting of the week: Chelsea Clinton at Grace Church for Palm Sunday services.I was sitting in the pew zoning out and relaxing when I noticed that the group in front of me was getting quite a few stares. They had come in about 5 minutes after the service had started and were meeting a friend. I had no idea who it actually was until it was time to "Share the Peace" and shake hands with all your neighboring worshipers. When she turned around she instantly looked familiar, but not in a gorgeous movie star way, but in a completely normal you may have met her at a party way. I remember seeing a picture of Chelsea and boyfriend/fiance a week or so before in US Weekly, and that is really the only reason I made the connection. I did notice however, that there was a hole in the sleeve of her shirt, and her bf kept touching her back throughout the entire service. Sorry, I had to make a catty stab where I could, but this is church. I was wondering the whole time though what she was praying about.....maybe Clinton for President in '08? Hmmmmmm.

US Weekly....Lawyers, it's time to staff up

Is it just me, or have the covers of the past few US Weekly's been quite brazen.....almost to the verge of slander? I would say it's pretty incriminating when your face is plastered on the cover with the title "Hollywood's Drug Problem" or that your life resembles Rosemary's Baby. The celebrity PR spiral must be out of control right now. But hey, there's no such thing as bad publicity. Keep those second rate starlets in the spotlight! Who cares that Lindsay's best movie was Mean Girls a million years ago, Katie married Tom cruise because she has been a huge nobody since Dawson's Creek ended, or Britney is in a glorified sanitorium. Keep the covers flowing! Mommy.....When I Grow Up.............
Screw doctors, lawyers and astronauts.....the socialite is the way to go. Who doesn't want to go to the most fab parties, wear fab clothes, and hang with the most fab people? Don't know where to start? Welcome to your official guide to breaking into the inner circle (even if you live in a dump and wear DSW shoes). Like I always say...perception is reality. How to become a socialite...

The Heatherette Plot Thickens......
So, it seems that Paris was supposed to walk out with Richie and Traver at the Fall 07 Heatherette show......I guess someone had a few too many tequila shots Monday night at Butter because she canceled 45 minutes before the show started blaming "food poisoning". Now I know many who love to 'drink their dinner' (and on occasion I am one of them), but the Heatherette kids just have the worst luck with Ms. Hilton. Last year she showed up 15 minutes before the show started to get hair and make up done. So, I guess Kimora Lee (ex-Simmons) got Paris' sloppy seconds and had to escort the boys. Come on guys!!! Where is the Tinz when you need her.....she couldn't possibly pass up an opportunity to have herself photographed.Check out what Socialite Rank has to say about the show...I am not in the minority here.
